Re: Who's getting the vaccine

Vaccination Envy! It is now a ‘thing’ it would seem.I don’t give a sh*t, even though I am late 50s, asthmatic and a Key/ Critical Worker. We all think we are more important than everyone else. We will get The Jab when we get it.It is what it is. It's not vaccination envy at all don't be ridiculous!...

Re: Who's getting the vaccine

I was honestly under the impression that the only people being vaccinated were the over 80's at the moment.

Who's getting the vaccine

I'm a bit piddled off today as my next door neighbour has just texted me to say she is having her vaccine tomorrow. She is 50's like me and whilst she works as a benefits councillor she works 100% from home and always has done. She used to go to the office one day a week but doesn't anymore and work...

Re: Portable (small) jump starter pack

We have this one and are really pleased with it. We needed the 3L for the van but they do a 2L one as well. https://www.halfords.com/motoring/battery-maintenance/jump-starters/halfords-advanced-lithium-jump-starter---up-to-3l-677469.html?istCompanyId=b8708c57-7a02-4cf6-b2c0-dc36b54a327e&istFeedI...

Re: What are you dehydrating?

Please don’t dismiss food safety. Meat canning needs to be done under pressure. You only get botulism once. I'm not dismissing food safety. Waterbathing has been used for centuries as a way of preserving food. I am in 3 facebook groups with thousands of members in each who all waterbath. In the 98 ...

Re: Vacuuming problems - rolls, bags or something else

I have had seals fail and use the sous vide rolls. I always do a double seal about 1 cm apart which helps. The reason for most of my fails have been vac packing with sharp edges inside, pasta is a classic. It punctures the bag rather than the seal going. TBH you shouldn't have any creases where you ...

Re: What are you dehydrating?

The rice thing is not something I am experimenting with, it's done by many. Same with the pasta. I'm also going to be killed by botulism by the many meat dishes I water bath as well apparently.

Re: What are you dehydrating?

People have been posting about this in a group I am in but it confuses me. They cook rice and then de-hydrate it. To re-hydrate it you have to put it in water so why not just cook it to order? I'm going to try it as I don't own a microwave for the shop stuff and am hoping that I can just get out a p...

Re: Choice and sources of Jars

I get almost all my jars from Home Bargains. They do the two part lid Mason jars for 59p for the pint and 99p for the 750ml. I've never found cheaper. They freeze and can be water bathed as well. Cheap as chips.

I think it would be hard to store spiralised.
