Just reporting back.
I'm half way through my second gallon. No signs of any problems yet. Running on old stuff barely diluted with good. Touch wood.

Re: How long can you sustain your family on your stored food? And tips how to rotate
Not concentrating on just one thing but trying to cover more bases even if that means being slightly less prepared for specfic events. I try to make most preps multifunctional. An extended pantry and a grand in the safe covers a multitude of risks. A tarp may not make a great tent, but it has a few...

But seriously, in a catastrophic event, as we see in Gaza, Ukraine, etc. sewage, money, pension, markets may become meaningless and I'll say the unthinkable...... Urban Prepping won't cut it! Such problems are best solved by evacuating when you can, not by storage. In fact, the storage has likely t...

]Thank You. Well, I am surprised! Another supporting post. I was expecting a cacophony of hecklers telling me how stupid it would be to risk hundreds of pounds worth of damage. I'd stick my neck out and say tptb don't want you hoarding fuel ;) Petrol does go stale but there's some in my generator 6...

Re: Using old Diesel
Yup, just use it. I've used diesel that's a couple of years old and was stored in plastic cans in a shed. Went in a modern diesel citreon and an older kia. No problems at all, as others have said just throw it in with some newer stuff. Thank You. Well, I am surprised! Another supporting post. I was...

Re: How long can you sustain your family on your stored food? And tips how to rotate
I agree. Same with water. It makes no difference whether you have enough for 2 months or a year. If there is no food or water available for two months, chances are there might never be. Presumably there will be no electricity, no petrol, roads blocked, you can't get to your savings or pension, even...

Tried my dehydrated falafel mix today. I like the sound of that. Sainsbury? Waitrose have it. You can easily make a falafel dry mix and jar it up, if you want a challenge. But I grant you, that stuff is cheap as chips. https://jamiegeller.com/recipes/homemade-dried-falafel-mix/ Meanwhile, a shout-o...

Re: Using old Diesel
A 50/50 mix with redex as Andy says should be ok but I would be tempted to decant it to check for water. In theory the water should sink to the bottom so don’t shake it and empty slowly. WP Hopefully if it's in a proper jerry can sealed it won't have interfaced much with water vapour for any meaning...

Their pantries may be empty but I bet they still have 🧻 🧻 🧻 🧻 🧻 🧻 🧻 🧻 🧻 🧻 🧻 🧻 🧻 🧻 🧻 🧻 🧻 I can't criticise: The loft area above the bathroom has a 3 foot layer of Cushelle loft insulation. If mice ever find a way to it, I'll be able to open my own petting zoo. I think it's likely that all thos...
