Re: Ration packs

to be honest though it would be last resort, my GHB has much tastier stuff. I just stuck them in there in case someone else was with me at the time as i'd feel obliged to share. This is always something to consider with prepping, there might be those that you love or regard turn up, then again, eve...

Re: Micro Greens?

Those trays: I am guessing its an aquaponic growing medium? If by medium you mean something like clay pebbles .... No there is nothing but a dribble of water in the bottom. I think it's the most cost effective method although apparently some people say it doesn't yield as big a crop that soil does ...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 5.

I'd love to get some of the US-style 5-gallon buckets (with decent lids) but they seem hard to come by over here so I bought one of these to try out instead. Solid enough etc. but the plastic pong is pretty damn strong in it! I've left it open in the loft to try to air it out bit for a while - woul...

Re: Micro Greens?

I'm just getting started really and it's kind of an experiment in a way. I'm going to try and grow them with no sunlight just to see what I could achieve in the depths of winter as long as I still had a power source for the grow lamp and I'm not using soil either as with any potting soil you can int...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 5.

this week I plan to start growing micro greens in the house, supposedly highly nutritious very fast growing (10 days from sprout to dinner plate sounds good to me) and extremely cheap to grow. I figure we're probably looking at veg shortages / price hikes later this year. going to grow a few batches...
