Re: Easy kidney bean curry

Great minds! Chilli non carne for us last night with couscous. Tinned onions/red beans/tomatoes/potatoes, frozen allotment garlic/chillis/peppers, shop-bought sunflower oil/couscous. Took 15 minutes to prepare/cook. Two pots I'm afraid - one for the chilli and one for the couscous.

Re: Final Summer planting.

I’m running late! Only just got the beans and peas in (marigolds going in today as companions). Oh and Lil’s favourite, kale, should really be planted out too I suppose 🤢

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 6.

Just back from a fab seed swap meeting. Went for lots and lots of different bean varieties as I was really successful with them last year. Also got some ‘walking onions’ whatever they are and calendula 🙂

What about blackout curtains mate ??? A bit more discreet than boarding up the windows too.
Also on my SHTF to-do list :D
Plenty of everyday preps to concentrate on first.

Re: What to do with windows in a SHTF situation

We've got quite large bay windows facing the street. I wonder if boarding up in a SHTF situation is almost advertising that you're someone prepared who has got stuff in your house worth protecting. Thoughts? Bay windows here too, so we plan to not use the front-facing windows when the sun goes down...
