Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 6.

Well, Friday nights have recently become Stash Sample nights. For historical reasons it's a day where I cook for one and he fends for himself. And tonight was another variation on Spag Bol which is getting better if not sillier. Tonight, I was double caught! Caught bringing in some dried ingredients...

Currently dehydrating the 5kg bag of onions that Iceland sold me for half price at just £1.25. With that and my massive order of powdered eggs, i'll be self sufficient in omelettes for at least 2 years :D

Re: Stash in a flat garage roof

Caught red handed loading boxes full of assorted scoff into the augmented storage space in the garage roof. There was a bemused look, then a gentle tutt, and I said something about 'Brexit just in case and kitchen cupboards overflowing a bit and I've gone a bit mad at Macro.' I'm gradually outing my...

Well 9/11 has been and gone I'm guessing Jenny is no longer with us :o
LOL. No sweat. I survived with zero ill effects.
I have now placed an order for LOTS more. But at the same time, I do intend to aggressively use up my old stock.

Re: Eggsperiment

Good to know. So if thats around 70 eggs, thats about .... 92p per half dozen? I always have trouble with that sort of calculation. Or almost eggsactly twice the price of fresh eggs from ALDI https://www.aldi.co.uk/everyday-essentials-eggs-15-pack/p/061997249390400 I consider that pretty good value

Re: Eggsperiment

Joking aside,if you are using a dehydrated product, you will be fine. The only thing that may suffer is the nutritional value, and more importantly the product quality/ colour and general structure. I can confirm that after two days of eating substantial amounts of reconstituted powdered egg BBE 2017,...

Re: Eggsperiment

Well the deed is done. Salmonella test sample now incubating in my tummy. The eggs I used ( BBE 12/17 ) had been opened about a year ago and though it's advised that they be used up soon after opening, they had been kept in a squeezed ziplock bag in the garage fridge. No foul smell, just a bit 'eggy...
