Re: New to the site - Sheffield

I always feel like I'm making it as I go along Too true. I'm always swapping stuff about and picking different things up depending on where I'm going and what I'm doing. There's no one size fits all bag for me. If I tried to make one up I wouldn't be able to carry it past the front garden. Not only...

DIY Shampoo

I found this on a free kindle book site while having a nosey through it, now I've not looked at it so I don't know if it's any good or not. I've only seen the title and thought to myself ah ha I'll down load it and look later, but I've that many books to read on my kindle it might not be around by t...

Re: Telling the other half you're a prepper

I'm so glad I'm not on my own. The light of my life isn't on board at all, although she likes never running out of hairspray or toothpaste etc she constantly complains about how much room the stuff takes up, how much it costs and her favorite cry of we've got enough of that .................. We hav...

Re: Dad to be Hospital bag???

I was going to say a load of 10p's for the phone calls, but then I remembered we're in the 21st century, that really makes me feel old, I know I didn't have enough when my first arrived. All I can think of off hand would be money for the coffee machine and maybe some pro plus type tablets, these thi...

Re: Bulk buy coffee

Crikey. I'm going to make a different suggestion. Get yourself an aeropress or a bialetti stove-top moka pot, and a grinder, and start enjoying proper freshly-ground freshly-made coffee for the same price. Sainsburys own-brand fairtrade expresso roast beans come between £1.50 and £1.80 per 100g, or...

Re: Bulk buy coffee

I usually get Nescafe Gold Blend from Poundstretchers, I don't know if there's one near you, but you can sometimes get it at £4 for a 200g jar. Or at least you could last time I bought any a couple of months ago cos we are steadily eating our way through our stocks at the moment so we don't have to ...

Re: Preps for Christmas

I only ever ask family for prepping related gifts, secrecy isn't an issue there cos SWMBO would give them everything we have any way and then wonder why we were living on toenail clippings and grass. as to christmas specific preps the most important one I can think of is to hide her credit card.

Re: Winter prep..

Learn to drive instead, written lovingly. Personally I've been involved in 2 accidents due to snow and ice on the UK roads, Everyone seems to panic the roads are lucky to get gritted, occasionally due to abandoned cars that by people who really have no idea how to drive in the snow, often by the ma...
