Re: Go bags for couples

What sort of go bag are you planning? If it's a hotel/hospital bag, then it's light enough to have one each. If you are doing the full-on GOOD live-in-the-woods-for-3-months Zombie Apocalypse BOB, then you'll both need a 60l bergen, bivvy bag, tactical FAK, machete, crossbow, night sights, 72 hour r...

Re: Something that slipped my mind - washing clothes

Anyone else disappointed they used power tools to drill the holes, and not brace-and-bit?

Re: No cost or low cost preps

Making yourself a little bit fitter and stronger than you are now. Start from where you are, build up. Even if it's just half-a-press-up on the knees, every day, until you can do one. Then two. Walk regularly, then run. Look at improving your diet. We're heading for hard times and the NHS is going t...

Re: Potato Help please

I've never heard of that or done it. Sounds like a spoof. If you want big potatoes there are a few things you can do: use big seed potatoes, rub off all but 2 or 3 chits before planting, feed and water well, throw away the small potatoes.

Re: My First Rocket Stove

Thanks Andy. I don't really know why I went for the silly DIY option. It certainly wasn't cost. I'd seen and sort of dismissed the flat pack type stoves, but the one you linked too looks good. LOVE the cat litter pellets idea though neighbours fence was my idea too. [/quote] It's ALWAYS worth...

Re: Insect bites

Here's some bad news: Consuming alcohol may make your blood tastier to mosquitoes, according to a 2011 French study. Researchers discovered that the alcoholic equivalent of three cans of beer can lead to 30 percent more bug bites, at least for men in a controlled laboratory setting. OM Can co...

"He who would make a pun would pick a pocket"

I love this book series, last winter I read all 20 back-to-back over about 6 weeks. I must watch the film again.

Just remember if you do find weevils in your flour, only eat the smaller ones

On the back of the freezing cheddar question,..... I still have a couple of wheels which have been in the fridge and keep looking at it wondering if it is still ok to use?

It won't be safe to use. Or even handle. Send it to me and I'll dispose of it correctly and safely for you.
