Re: UK running short of surgical and dust masks.

:tinfoil Territory ; Once or twice whilst having alcohol fueled debates I had suggested that with population being an issue, it would not surprise me if some countries were working on flu like things as almost an ethnic cleansing thing, or thinning the population in general, like I said alcohol fue...

Re: UK running short of surgical and dust masks.

Although I also shared the view that, viewed in isolation, the numbers don't appear that scary, however we have to bear in mind that this infection rate is happening in cities that are effectively totally locked down, who knows what the infection numbers would look like if it were treated as "just ...

Re: UK running short of surgical and dust masks.

This may cause offence and I certainly don't want to trivialise a lethal illness that has no cure and is spreading but I do feel things should be kept in perspective in that currently around 500 people have died from the new corona virus. This needs to be considered against the half a million peopl...

As it stands, the kids are eating things almost as fast as I can make them, so storage isn't an immediate issue.

Re: Excalibur dehydrator

Has to be the big one, the footprint is the same, but the quantity double, I use mine for drying brass more than anything else, but when I do food stuff 5 trays wouldn't be enough.

Re: Plastic storage for inside kitchen cupboards?

Recent new kitchen, driving me mad. I have one rotator cuff injury and one arthritic shoulder, and between them my arms are useless. Base unit cupboards are big and deep, going back a long way right into the corners. Currently having to sit on the floor and grubble around in a load of tins until I ...

Re: Vacuum sealer

I managed to get a foodsaver from Lakeland in a sale but the cost of bags from them is nuts. I did manage to pick up the jar sealing attachments for both the regular and widemouth jars for literally a pittance compared to what they're selling for now when I last looked the price had gone up substan...

Re: Brexit in October?

Totally agree. But , you know what? To quote the great Baz Lurman, “ The real problems are the ones that blindside you on a lazy Tuesday afternoon.” In my case , my dear wife’s cancer. That shit polarises your mind. The cast of the Beano that run this country needs a reality check. They also need t...

Re: Tin opener

I guess i’ve been lucky so far, no rings fallen off so far - that I remember anyway. 8-) It’s not that I don’t buy tins with no rings and don’t use tin openers, but for my emergency food I try to look for the ones with rings. LOL ;) I have had a corned beef tin opening thingy break on me before, th...
