Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 7.

I bought a medium-sized Le Creuset pan a year ago, to put in my "hay" box - its way too heavy to use every day, arthritis being what it is, but it would work if there was a problem. I bought it at an old hippie's garden shop, it cost £15 :)

Re: Hello from Norwich, Norfolk

Marcus, I'm afraid Asda has two types of own brand salt at less than 40p a kilo, quite a lot cheaper ...

As far as where I am ... I'm on the other side of London from you, sorry!

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 7.

I'm clearing space in my second bedroom - I've found a bit more storage space. Also did it in the understairs cupboard: found a *very* old tube of filler, external use possible - so I filled in some gaps in the mortar of my weatherward wall, below the damp course. Big, too - 3", going right through ...

Re: Acorns

Hope your foraging is going well, mushroom. Blackberries and elderberries are over now, down south here, but lots of hips around.

I love that you got to meet Ffyona Campbell!

Re: Acorns

What a great thread you made, mushroom, thanks for the linkie :) You worked on a lot as well - thats a fair-sized baking tray you've filled. As a matter of personal preference (including very low levels of physical energy, after chronic fatigue) I probably wouldn't go the extra steps of making a dri...

Re: Greetings Everyone

Hi there! Welcome to the forum - sounds like its very much the right place for you. Grab bags are a really good idea - house fires, local incidents (police evacuation for everything from an unexploded WWII bomb to a terrorist incident), floods - it helps with all of it.

Re: Acorns

Thanks jansman! I've come across grandpappy before, but I've not seen that post. Brilliant. It looks like a lot of personal information, not just recycled from other sites.

Re: Gadgets everywhere

I'm another one that likes technology - in fact, I got a computer so long ago it was when a ZX81 was the latest thing - you know, the one where you had to run a cassette tape to instal the operating system every time you wanted to use it  But I don't use as much tech as I *could*, I just do...

Re: Newbie

Welcome to the forum! Can I advise, don't go too heavy on the gadgets at first - you'd be amazed at the amount of duplication there can be. But its great that you're taking action, and this site can be so inspirational :)

Re: Gadgets everywhere

Between hacking, and the distinct possibility of losing my phone somewhere, no financial accounts are linked to my phone, not at all. A kindle I bought has Alexa, but I've researched a way to turn it off. And I tape over the selfie camera.
