Why would you need to insulate it? Is the fuel tank on your car insulated? Add some Stabil to it and store it covered up,make sure the can is as full as you can get as well. If you start storing any quantity worth making sure it's well away from the house well ventilated and ideally with a decent size fire extinguisher handy... I'm looking to get an outdoor storage solution for a Wavian UN approved 20L fuel (diesel/petrol) jerry can which I should store outdoors. So far a McGuiver approach is to keep the jerry can in a large wheelie bin (which would be insulated) outside. I do not want to store it indoors even in the garag...
