Re: Powdered egg ?
I've since learned, powdered egg is similar in shelf life to rice and pasta ! 10 yrs is considered ok in sealed containers. So it's a very versatile and valuable resource, the cheapest I've found is approx £10 per half kilo. If anyone can improve on this, I'd be obliged to hear of it ! It works out ...

Yes, I've already had a pm from a moderator and will indeed.
Different forums have different uses, I'm fairly pragmatic and accept the "pool rules" when swimming.

Re: wrist arm knee wraps
Ps sorry, if you're diabetic or prediabetic please be careful with wraps or bandages to the lower legs or feet. Neuropathy to feet (loss of sensation) is a real problem which can lead to unknown foot injuries or sores, which can lead to sepsis and subsequent amputation. Over Tightening bandages can ...

Re: wrist arm knee wraps
The stretchy tube wraps last longer and are washable, they also come in various sizes. Cohesive bandages are reusable, if looked after carefully but don't last that long. Crepe bandages, can be washed but likewise they deteriorate. If you can, get a joint support measured for you and prescribed (the...

Powdered egg ?
Is anybody storing this, any ideas on viable shelf life and finally any recommendations, on sources. I'm storing powdered milk, powdered egg seems an obvious addition. Obviously, eggs can be used in cooking recipes, can be cooked by themselves (such as scrambled, or as omelettes) are a valuable sour...

Re: Prepper -'lite' or full on survivalist
Prepper lite here, Im considering the scenarios that require sitting on your hands, in situ, waiting for events/authorities to kick back in and return to some semblance of normality. Such a return and the timescale, is dependent upon the nature, of any such emergency. My job (as I see it) is to fore...

Re: GHK, get home kit.
A ghk is not important to me, where I live, the terrain and weather is fairly benign and I'm rarely if ever, further than twenty mins away from home by car. It's hard to imagine, outside of the ultimate shtf scenario of nuclear attack, where getting home would be a longer than 5-6 hour problem. Even...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 11
My meds/first aid bin is complete, I of course have gone over the top. Both as a former nurse/nurse manager and OCD sufferer, have compiled something resembling a small field hospital. I tried to reign myself in but I do tend to overthink things. Ultimately I had to focus on likely/most essential ne...

Re: Looking for a book on UK freshwater fish
River fishing, especially for species to eat, is more difficult than lake fishing. There are methods, that myself and others use that are simple and fairly reliable. From an edible fish standpoint, you're talking pike, perch, brown trout, river carp, eels. The smaller fish aren't worth it. Bream are...

Re: DIY dentistry
Psychiatric hospitals (when we had them) used to have dedicated dental treatment rooms and dental treatment was considered an important part of physical health. Many historical health books in Drs library's, gave over similar importance to dental health, claiming all manner of associated illnesses a...
