Picked up another 6 x 2L bottles of water.

Reading through this thread, someone suggested wet wipes for light washing to preserve water for drinking and cooking, so I've ordered a few packs of wet wipes. Good advice, thankyou!

This week, I've been focused on ensuring my back up cooking methods are up to scratch. I been into the shed and checked the camping stove, hexamine stove fuel and some chaffing fuel. I noticed the chaffing fuel lists an expiry date, I wonder why? I'll need to light one and make sure it still burns. ...

Following the fires I've refocused on my 'get out of the house quickly preps'. I realised the only thing prepped is a wash kit for myself and my wife, so I've started to gather the extra bits we'd need. Spare underwear, bit of cash, a credit card, spare dog lead, bowl and some food. I want to keep ...

Drained a few litres out of each of the water butts this morning, to give a bit of expansion room if they freeze! It was 0 here last night and forecast to get a lot colder.

I also need to sort my water shortage preps, rotate some of the stored drinking water.

Hope everyone is coping with the cold!

A few more real-life practical preps this week. On the financial side, I've upped my pension contribution by .5%. I've also looked at my savings, we want to convert the conservatory into more of a permanent extension, we probably only have around half of what we expect it to cost, so we've plotted o...

Added a 3rd slimline water butt to the garden. I have 300 litres total capacity now for the garden. My plans are to only water the vegetables and fruit trees in an extended drought. It's also going to be used for other non-potable uses, washing etc. I'm also re-stocking my vehicle preps. I usually k...

Food preps this week. Purchased a 10kg bag of basmati rice, previous one has a 1/3 left in the bad. I also picked up another 3kg bag of pasta and stocked up on Yorkshire tea. I'm thinking that if milk does become scarce I'd make do with black tea. I do have a couple of cartons of UHT that should tid...

I too have gone crazy on the veg growing. I'm fighting the good fight in terms of preventing them from going leggy. My plan is to give tomato plants to family, as I did last year. I had enough lettuce to sink a ship and was pretty bored of it by the end of the summer haha. Also rotated some tinned t...

Ordered an external SSD to replace the T7 that died. I won't be repeating my experiments with using it with the phone, although I may have corrupted it earlier by forgetting to eject before inplugging. Anyway, this was pretty cheap so I snapped it up. 41% off reduced to £68. I like to have one to t...
