Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 13

A thermal camera! How interesting! And it sounds like it's been very, very useful. It was an Amazon deal impulse buy and I can't recommend them enough, especially if you are keeping an eye on things thermal. Not only has it picked up these hotspots, but I have used it to fix a colder than normal ra...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 13

Took some books to a free book shop nearby. Got a couple more trips to do. And gave away a duvet (Gumtree freebies) that was new, used once, but too warm.

Got a couple of water containers re-steralised and filled. Got one in the bathroom ready to do today.

0° last night. Hope my Acer's ok. Didn't cover it, and bubble wrap is off. I wasn't expecting it to be quite that cold. Time will tell. Still got to deal with aphids and ants. Met has tonight down to 5°, but Accu has 1°. After that we should be around 5 minumum. Got some deliveries in the next coupl...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 13

Got 10 weeks meds. Bought a few things - some socks, couple of tops, new summer duvet and bedspread. Forecast is patchy, so decided to dry laundry indoors. Got my duvet cover washed, dry, and back on the duvet, all in about 5 hours. Used a dehumidifier and a bit of central heating. I have one in a d...

Re: Value Range foods compared

Sainsburys Spicy Beanburgers. 4 for £1.39. That's a quarter of some of the non-meat products I buy. Not bad, they are spicy. I've not tried them in a bread roll. I have them with veg and veggie gravy. I mainly have Quorn, but it's getting expensive. Apparently they've experienced a drop in demand in...

Re: Value Range foods compared

Tastes rubbish for the first couple of bottles and then it tastes the same. Lol. I like that. Funny but true. I tried to switch out MrJJ's Jack Daniels a few times, with a bit of dilution :) But he noticed and went ape. We can all downshift: Seems all we ever do :( Martell -> Courvoisier -> Three B...

Re: Value Range foods compared

Most value stuff is ok. All the baked beans I ever had were very similar. Coffee's not one to buy cheap really. I'm only paying about the same for Azera as for some instant coffee, maybe even cheaper. Aldi pretend Azera is cheap, but not great. Someone's having a laugh here, offering me whisky for £...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 13

Put the woodburner to bed for the year. Hoping it's not too early but we are getting low on wood. Just have to get some jumpers out if there is a cold snap, Now to find a chimney sweep. It's overdue and normal sweep has retired. Was 2° here this morning. But I barely used any heat - just 38 pence w...
