Ikea Bulb

I saw this on another prepper site and thought it was a cracking idea. A rechargeable light bulb in case of power cuts.

You can unscrew it and walk round with it if you want. It lasts around 2 hours with the power off.

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 7.

Our phones are old and have not received updates for a while and mine keeps forgetting it has battery and going to...

Hydrogen peroxide can be bought from a hairdressing / beauty wholesaler. Boots & many other independent pharmacies also sell it. It's easy enough to dilute down - there's information here - https://www.mychemicalfreehouse.net/2020/03/dilution-table-for-hydrogen-peroxide.html I wasn't aware that Boo...

Re: Bike to charge phones

It’s a lovely , low-tech idea, to charge stuff via a bicycle, it really is. Trouble is, it goes against what Ragnar Benson, the old- school survivalist calls ‘“ survival thermodynamics “. That is, more energy in, than you get out. It is if you are using the bike just to charge something but if you ...

Re: Bike to charge phones

I've always liked the idea that you can get some power from your bike. Soylent Green was the first time I realised that you could use a bike to power a lightbulb inside a house. In a good programme on BBC in 2009 they powered a whole house using a team of cyclists pedalling like mad! It was on Bang...

Re: Big Berky water filter

Has the Berkey a metal or plastic tap? I have heard the plastic one doesn't last long. I'm torn on this as you can buy a stainless replacement tap but you can also buy a plastic tap that has a gauge on that shows how much water if in the bottom tank. I'm hoping the gauge one is better quality than ...
