Re: Suggestions for good quality walking boots

Get yourself down to Go Outdoors at Granton and have a try mate. A boot that I might love because it fits my foot might not be the same for you. What I will say is if its for serious walking in soggy conditions I prefer leather over man made types altbough they tend to be a bit more 'clumpy'. My ge...

Suggestions for good quality walking boots

Hi all,

My walking boots need replacing, just wandering is anyone has any suggestions for a good pair of walking boots? The market seems very saturated and it's difficult to choose!

Cheers.

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 5.

Nice one, thanks for sharing! I've found the old Corstorphine line nefore, that's a good one to lead me in the right direction to the water of leith. If you're in the Corstorphine area, Corstorphine/Clermiston hill is a good walk too. If you head out towards Turnhouse there's some nice walks there ...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 5.

Defiantly. I'm a fan of the water of Leith, Cramond, Cammo and the coastline. Apologies if this is an egg sucking scenario and I've no idea which bit you stay in but I've just found this. http://www.edinburgh.gov.uk/downloads/download/370/explore_edinburgh_by_bike_maps I've lived in different bits ...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 5.

Prepping myself today! Just back from an 8 mile walk with the dog. Was an easy canal towpath walk but just wanted to get back into some regular activity. It was a place near home that I've not been to before so it also helped me get to know my local area better. Apart from the canal there are some ...

Re: Mental Health.

It's surprising how many people out there have suffered from mental health issues in the past. I was temporarily off work a few years ago for 2 weeks. Lots of things happening at home and work life also took over my life, lots of travel, pressure, problems, etc etc. Basically after a downward spiral...

Re: Living in a van or off a small plot.

Sorry to hear about your situation. Not sure if opportunites still exist where you can get digs and food in exchange for work, maybe in some of the more regional areas of the UK. E.g farm labour. It may not be glamorous but keeps a roof over your head. I saw a bit on the news yesterday how farms are...
