Re: Prepper -'lite' or full on survivalist

Pragmatism I've sometimes described myself as a pragmatic communist and equally I'd describe myself as a pragmatic prepper. What that means is that in reality the prepper-lite tag is the one that fits better. A lot of the survivalist stuff is in my view at the very best pure hollywood fueled fantas...

Re: Prepper -'lite' or full on survivalist

Diet prepper here. Living in Scotland, I’m more interested in what to do if we are snowed in or the lights go out rather than what to do if Vlad chucks a missile at us as I live pretty close to the castle and it’s the natural aiming point for the city. I couldn’t escape it so I don’t worry about it....

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 10

Might be heading up north over winter (the north of Scotland that is) and I’m getting the car ready. I’ve had a sleeping bag in it for ages now but I’m looking to get a folding shovel, any recommendations welcome. I’ve been looking at army surplus stuff but it’s hard to see what’s good and what’s ch...

Re: Medicine use by dates...

I was once given excellent advice on here not to buy an expensive first aid kit and to purchase a workplace replacement box which had all the same things in it but at a fraction of the price. I dare say some things might be out of date in it now but it’s stored in my rucksack in the attic as part of...

Re: N.H.S. views and experiences

I would like it to move to what happens in New Zealand. You pay a small amount to see a GP but everything is free after that. It stopped a lot of folk time wasting and a lot of ailments were treated at the chemist. It freed up appointments and you never had to wait to see a doctor but if you needed ...

Re: New covid strain in uk...

Husband visited the care home tonight and they have nothing in place at the moment so not too worried. I think therein lies the problem: All the barriers and protocols have been dismantled. No-one has any inclination to reestablish them. But Covid isn't resting on its laurels. We are worse than ill...

Three of my team have been off with it. It seems to be rife at the moment.

Half the country is unprepared for a light dusting of snow never mind fallout!

Nice to know at least one or two countries take things seriously.
