Re: N.H.S. views and experiences
There’s also this to contend with and I’m going to have to tip toe around this so please be kind mods! There’s been a privatisation of services going on for years, it’s been salami slice after salami slice but it has been going on. American private health companies have been hoovering up contracts f...

Re: N.H.S. views and experiences
I work as a community MH worker and deal with the NHS on a daily basis at work, I’m also on the bank for an alcohol rehabilitation unit as well. There’s a hell of a lot of things that could be done to save money in the day to day running of the NHS, to give you an example, often patients get dischar...

Re: Priory service register
We have a lot of our service users registered on this (I work in MH support). It is absolutely essential if there’s a problem, I’m fine to go without heat etc if pensioners and vulnerable folk get help first.

Re: Cooking during power outage
Bump. A mate of mine up the Highlands was talking about this the other day, he’s bought a huge barbecue which should keep his family going until the lights and gas come back on. I’ve only got a piddly wee chiminea in the garden which you can put a kettle on top and I have a very long handled frying...

Re: New member
Hello from Edinburgh! I’m a relative newbie as well, loads of sensible advice is given and received on here and I’ve learned a lot. I do have an emergency bag but it’s not a Bug out Bag, it’s more a ‘the electricity has gone off, I’ve cut my finger and I can’t get to the hospital’ bag. Oh aye, ask q...
