Re: Fire lighting.

I believe matches/lighters and fire lighters should be your first port of call as a prepper. This gets you through the initial shtf when one less hassle could be important for survival. Once these run out other fire lighting skills will be needed. So both will have their uses depending on what you a...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 6.

Wife is looking at me like I'm getting too prepared as I bought extra nappies for the munchkin. Turned out they are 2 sizes too big so I kinda have to agree lol. He will grow into them eventually.

Re: Storage in the loft on a small rented flat?

If it's rented I would check with the landlord/lease to make sure you have permission to use the loft as the lease I used (as a letting agent) stated no access or use of the loft. Also be aware it maybe a communal area that the landlord doesn't own separately and only to be used for repairs of the r...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 6.

You just wish you could get the highups from Sainsbugs/Asda etc lined up on tv and let people grill them as to why things have gone up already  I wonder how much is profiteering due to the Brexit preppers increasing demand or hoping to cover their losses from Brexit delays so putting up price...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 6.

Still drip feeding the stocks few more packets of instant mash, pasta, rice and paraffin, more baby wipes and the next size up in nappies. The wife decided that just in case we should get some reusable nappies I'm still worried I'll drop the wain let alone stab him with one of those huge safety pins...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 6.

Added a couple more cartons of long life milk and more rice, pasta and some gravey powder. Did notice when putting this away we need more instant mash so a Tesco run is called for. I generally feel I'm organised for most things but this morning caught me out. My shoe lace snapped and this is somethi...

Re: having a few jerry can problems

2. If your worried about rust from sitting on the floor build a wooden slatted rack to sit them on this should allow air underneath and keep them away from the floor and the damp. 5. This is in place at all garages and depending on who is at the till should always be in place. As it's part of their ...

Re: Cooking - bugging in

My personal bug in cooking plan is using 2 suitcase style stoves currently stored in the garage along with the gas. I am going to get at least 1 more plus a few more canisters. I want to keep our bug in as close to normal life and a couple of gas burners are easy to use and worked when we had no sto...
