Re: Solar Chargers

Aye, its a charge controller, cost about 14 quid. I've got an extra few hundred quid I wasn't expecting so I'm pressing on with it. Still swithering over the panel and batteries, seen some but trying to get the right ones. It is fun though. Well if your on a bit of a budget I can recommend eco wort...

Re: 2018 predictions

I'm not so sure this year will be quite so straight forward, for some reason I have had this intense feeling that I really need to get all preps in order and the feeling that I need more, up until recently I thought I was ready to cope with most situations that might arise whatever they may be but n...

Re: Equipment shopping

I bought some kit from them earlier in the year. There was a problem with the order (my fault entirely!) which they resolved quickly over the phone. My experience of dealing with them was very positive (good quality products, cheap and the problem resolved quickly). That said, I was initially weary...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 4

Thanks, I knew it would be a relatively simple process, plenty others have done it, I'm just being a nervous nelly. One thing i will say is if solar only you would be much better using a pwm ( pulse width modulation) type solar controller as they will maintain the batteries and keep them at ...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 4

Thanks mate, much appreciated. One of my concerns for a shed setup is the excess wigglies once batteries are full. I'm planning on using this Christmas's Amazon vouchers to start the ball rolling, looking at a yacht wind turbine although I've not looked into it as much. You could just use a standar...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 4

Also forgot to mention there is 1000ah capacity in the batteries and that all charging power is dependent on the weather so batteries sized to give me at least 3 days running on all the important stuff, however I have found that solar is pretty useless without a wind turbine to back up the solar whe...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 4

I've spent the weekend boosting my solar power up a bit with some new solar panels and ordered some new parts to improve the wind turbine output, looking forward to fitting new hub and blades next week If you can be bothered, can you give us a run through of your system ? I've been dragging arse on...
