Re: How long can you sustain your family on your stored food? And tips how to rotate

I despise that phrase 'you can live weeks without food'. It is normally called dying of starvation. One of the worst ways to die. Slow and agonising. Our normal stocks last min 6 months. Stored much more. You just have to look at what your £s bought only recently and what you get now. Not too far fet...

Re: New smoke emissions laws for wood burners...

Won’t be allowed on my property, that’s for sure. Unfortunately, plenty of people willing to snitch Snitch what? It’s not illegal to use smokeless fuel and wood with less than 20% moisture. These ‘regulations’ are classic scare tactics by local councils. I am sure they will put some folks off, which ...

Re: New smoke emissions laws for wood burners...

The future for log burning is bleak, at first they will go for the folk who live in city's, towns and suburbs because they have mostly 2 forms of power electric and gas so if a power cut can still keep warm maybe even cook . The countryside community on the whole only have electric power and if a p...

Re: New smoke emissions laws for wood burners...

Just how would this new law be enforced, ie come in your home and inspect your wood stores or some sort of monitoring device that's held over your chimney. Whatever it is I'm sure it will lead to lots of agro. Won’t be allowed on my property, that’s for sure. Unfortunately, plenty of people willing ...

Re: Our 5 day powercut in December 2022.

Thanks for that. Part that got my attention is how fast the house became cold and lifeless (?)after a few days without warmth. I saw a sleeping bag powered by a powerbank somewhere. Made by vango I think

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 9

Come to think of it, I think I'll start delaying ordering a bit each time they email/text. I don't need a bigger safety net than what I have. I was glad to have a few weeks buffer when Covid struck of course, pus the fact that I get it all delivered. I wonder if you and other's have been checking t...
