Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 11
Having a trip out today into town. Probably Home Bargains!  We almost live in HB & B&M :) Saddos that we are. :) We use a lot of batteries particularly within our lighting system and solar costs nowt. Save the throwaway batteries for Winter. That got me thinking..... Batteries of...

Re: Pallet Wood quality Question
Floor definitely needs to be raised 3” min. It’ll outlast you that way. Great. I don't want us having to rebuild again when we are in our 70's. I could kick myself, because it's only rotted where soil was in contact, but that was 3 sides. I know it was raised 3" originally, because for two yea...

Re: Pallet Wood quality Question
Pallet wood is generally as good as most..... Apart from being a bit rough sawn, I think it'll do. We'll cherry pick the best pieces and soak them in 'something' .. for flooring / joists on a shed your wanting uc4 treatment... Is that OSB board stuff suitable? Seems cheapish. I think when the...

As noted by YA as a good idea, mine were soaked in creosote and used car oil ,drained and fixed. 34 years ago! I also have a lot of picket fence made and treate...

Pallet Wood quality Question
Calling all Pallet busting, shed building, wombles. Will Pallet wood last? Our 8'x6' shed is in a bit of a state of decay. It was one of hubbies custom projects, back when we had money and it has lasted very well. Nice overlapped wood. However, the tongue and groove floor has rotted around the edges...

Re: Solar panel bargain...
Little testing done today ... Spring sunshine it's pushing 109w happily enough about 20 when it clouded over Impressive. I'd never expect to get anywhere near 90% of rating in this country. Andy, do you have any higher rating panels such as 350W? And can the eco-flow transition up to >30V panels?

Re: Solar panel bargain...
I've been doing a bit of reading because of this thread, about adding in a solar panel bought later - it sounds like the new panel has to be the same wattage as the existing panel. It *can* be different, but that needs extra care etc etc taken, and it seems much simpler to just get a panel at the s...

Re: National grid (electric) look to suspend night time call outs to domestic power cuts
What a surprise that a company can be so financially and cynical planned! Be interesting what happens and they ignore you then theres a subsequent big arc flash that kills or BBQs some poor soul walking down the street Won't they have insurance for such contingencies? As a NG shareholder, the...
