Re: Eggsperiment

Good to know. So if thats around 70 eggs, thats about .... 92p per half dozen? I always have trouble with that sort of calculation. Or almost eggsactly twice the price of fresh eggs from ALDI https://www.aldi.co.uk/everyday-essentials-eggs-15-pack/p/061997249390400 I consider that pretty good value

Re: Eggsperiment

Joking aside,if you are using a dehydrated product, you will be fine. The only thing that may suffer is the nutritional value, and more importantly the product quality/ colour and general structure. I can confirm that after two days of eating substantial amounts of reconstituted powdered egg BBE 2017,...

Re: Eggsperiment

Well the deed is done. Salmonella test sample now incubating in my tummy. The eggs I used ( BBE 12/17 ) had been opened about a year ago and though it's advised that they be used up soon after opening, they had been kept in a squeezed ziplock bag in the garage fridge. No foul smell, just a bit 'eggy...

Eggsperiment

Wish me luck as I TOFTT Well, to pay some lip-service to stock rotation, tonight's main meal will comprise scrambled eggs made from the egg powder that has BBE date Dec 2017* Imodium will be brought out of stash and kept close to hand, just in case. Re: Free online book website

Good resource, but one downside : Many well meaning muppets have uploaded books as PDF's without the first clue what they are doing : Each page scanned in as an image file and that image file inserted into the PDF. Thus you can't do anything with the font size when viewing and the pages have no free...

Re: Where should I get my dried beans, lentils and peas

Tesco currently has a 2kg for £3.50 offer across their range of pulses ( mostly Natco brand) Lidl have cheap lentils. Speaking of pulses. I have some 5 gallon polythene bottles and have considered decanting my 1/2 and 1kg bags into them for more secure storage. Opinions, anyone? I just wonder if a f...

Re: Feeding the masses

While I'm not geared up for those kind of numbers, I've always had paper plates etc as part of my stores, if water was at a premium you maybe wouldn't want to use it to wash plates. Saying that, as I've been having a big sort out, I can't find them so will have to invest in some more. A year's wort...

Re: Feeding the masses

Found this: https://www.n-somerset.gov.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/emergency-feeding-plan-pdf.pdf It is 2012, but all I could find for U.K. The plan relies heavily on mass acquisition of food by local authority from Morrison and Sainsbury’s. Given the just in time system, free market and potentia...
