Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 7.

I'm collecting my car tomorrow so I've been doing a bit of driving revision. It's a 30 mile trip back and the first time I will have driven on my own so unsurprisingly I had an anxiety dream last night! I've downloaded my insurance documents to OneDrive so I can show them on my phone if necess...

Re: Assessing your risk

That's really interesting. I was shielded because of severe asthma, but that was because my inhaler dosage was massive, not because I was taking oral steroids. As such according to that list my risk works out as low, quite a lot less than 1%. Huh. Kind of reassuring, if annoying that I spent all tha...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 7.

Today,Mrs J has been sewing more face masks for friends and family, and I have been splitting yet more logs and kindling. I'm also making more masks. I need to alter my design as Mum can't wear my current pattern because it ties up at the back of the head and she can't see what she's doing! I've giv...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 7.

I've topped up supplies of paracetamol, cough sweets, indigestion stuff and plasters. Got a load of multivitamins in too (some will be shared with my Mum). This morning I successfully trimmed my own hair. I had planned on making an appointment with the hairdresser now shielding is over, but he's in ...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 7.

Mouse, I had to use one of those self service blood pressure monitors in a local GP surgery before a day op a few years ago - I used it 8 times in a row before I got the same reading twice    there was definitely a trick to using that one  Not a bad idea to buy your own. ...

Mouse: Tell us the make and model, you never know someone might have one. Hyundai i10. Tiny car. I've seen a few storage ideas so I'm not too worried. :) I had a medicine review over the phone with the nurse from my doctor earlier today and she asked me to get hold of a blood pressure monitor or go...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 7.

I've just had an email from work saying we will be working from home until at least the end of 2020. I need to think about how this will affect preps and if I need to change anything. First thoughts are that food wise I may save money, but I really need to think this through. In other news, I went t...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 7.

I was a brave bunny today  I went into a shop for the first time since 19th March! I've expanded the radius of my walks a bit, out to a big charity shop I used to go once a fortnight. They're all arrowed up, doors permanently open to help ventilate. The room is as big as an old school hall, an...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 7.

And I finally finished my lockdown craft project - I've been doing it for so long that home-made masks weren't a thing when I started    but thats where I'll put my focus now. Here's my bowl cover, in all its glory: July bowl cover in lockdown online version.jpg That's lovely! Did...
