Salutary advice, we lost half a ton of our own farms frozen meat when a sparks brought in when I was away fried all our freezers and didn't bother to tell...or maybe he didn't realise.

Still lost all our meat stocks though.

I'm not a fan of labour saving kitchen devices as they seem to cause more work and take up space when never being used. However, I bought a pasta machine for a tenner on an auction site to shred my home grown tobacco. Surprisingly I have got a lot of culinary use out of it. Not just pasta but Chines...

Ash is good for making lye and thus soap. Paper ash? Not sure as so much paper is made of rags etc, plus all the ink residues may have a chemic effect....anyone?

My organic chemistry is v basic and of the "I will just go look that up" standard

Charcoal briquettes seem to use some sort of starch glue. Wallpaper paste maybe? I do not have a woidstove so can't play myself but have thought about this a bit too Tried wallpaper paste with chainsaw dust, not a great result. I think when we pressed out the water we lost the adhesive. Maybe less ...

Forgot to say that it's 18 T psi, applied quickly. I tried a 20 T press but that had no effect.

This may be the reason the compressed pellets are so common and cheaper.
