Re: Living in a new build, Need storage, thinking under sta
Yes making a feature does make sense. To be honest I was picturing your void as being somewhat small and probably below waist height but if you can fit a full height mirror on there then that's going to be quite a large space. should work out to approx the size of two double wardrobes if I can capi...

Re: Living in a new build, Need storage, thinking under sta
Thanks for all the tips guys - much appreciated. I have had a very slight change in tactic as the space under the stairs backs on to the down stairs loo - I am taking going to take out a section of that wall (there are no supports or anything in the way of this one). Can you post a pic of the under stair area I can't visualise where the plasterboard wall you want to move is, in other words is that area already blocked off and inaccessible or not. I don't have stairs, so not something I can comment on. Storage space is at a premium though. One thing I came up with is using the height of the hallway. Above the door I attached braces on opposite walls and laid a board between them, creating a large shelf. It did change the feeling of the hallw...

Living in a new build, Need storage, thinking under stairs
Hi All, As my rolling stock in the house has now outgrown the kitchen and the few small spaces you get in a new build I am thinking of a little DIY project to build and under stars cupboard. At the moment it is just a plasterboard wall under the stairs, am thinking I can remove the board (carefully)...

Re: What I'm covering in my prep
I like your list :) One thing I am learning fast is the realm of "gaffer tape" So many different types and manufacturers and of course qualities. What I have been learning is that some will stick well or very not to different type of fabric or plastics, waterproof or not, easy to rip leng...
