Re: Whiskey, Wine and Sweets

Booze will keep indefinitely. Like all foodstuffs, keep cool, dry and dark.Sweets are the same I guess.Anything with a high percentage of sugar will keep virtually forever.Fizzy pop is another. Trying to remember my food safety training from back when God was a lad: Sugary, salty, acidic and alcoholic ...

Re: S&P way over valued, debt soaring, and china hording...

S&P has been climbing on the back of speculators' hopes for a Wild West of the stock market under Trump's "business-friendly" low-regulation administration. It has even less than usual to do with the actual economic performance of the concerns whose stocks are being traded at ever-more...

Re: Future of healthcare.

I certainly don't think things can continue as they are without bankrupting the NHS. We either need to make savings or increase the proportion of tax that pays for it. At the moment the government seems to have passed the buck onto local governments - just telling them to make savings, but I think ...

Re: Hopkinson Release Knife

Can't beat the UK for silly rules and regulations.... But fixing your own car on your own driveway :o bet everyone with a car has broken the planning laws I assume that even topping up the screen wash would get some over zealous council official overly excited It's probably entirely legal, inferrin...

Re: Upcoming gravity light - still in initial stages

And lifting a 10kilo weight a metre or two is a faster and probably more efficient means of storing energy than winding away furiously at a clockwork/flywheel crank.

Re: BOB/GHB clothing for Britain.

Be an Ogre: have layers. It's not true that all synthetic textiles are bad for wicking/vapour escape. And getting moisture away from your skin is only any use if you stop the stereotypical British weather (rain) from getting to your skin from the outside; synthetics are good at that bit. Just eschew...

Re: What preps are you doing this week? Part 3.

Gotta Love Molle, the amount of uses it has! Be wary, fellow preppers, of (cheap) "Molle" bags where the "Molle" is largely decorative. Bought a bag recently which was touted as "Molle", but has wrongly-spaced webbing strips, and so would not be compatible with any &qu...

Re: Question: purchase of nylon gear from abroad & customs

If you are being looked at by plod is it entirely possible in this day and age that a purchase of firearms related items without having a licence at the address has flagged something under Mrs May's new snooping thingy? Unlikely. That's not how it works. Given that it's Border Agency, erm, agents, ...

Re: Bugging-in Boredom blasted away by brilliant Boardgames

You people really know how to knock a good survival related thread, as few as appear here, off the rails. You think it's off the rails to recommend games with high replayability to extend their boredom-beating properties, over games that get samey very quickly (and involve, often, the serial elimin...

Without knowing what, within certain paramaters, you're prepping for, it's hard to say what's missing, apart from water transport and any considerable FAK
