Get home bag

I drive around with an emergency bag in the boot, containing water, clothing, a few snacks and other bits and pieces. My main stores are kept at home in easily transportable containers. Was just wondering what you all consider to be essential in a get home bag and if you think a full bug out bag wou...

Re: Omnia Stove Top Oven

Thanks Featherstick! I have experimented with flat breads and you're right they do make a great alternative to a baked loaf. I am maybe over complicating things and as usual getting tempted into buying new kit I don't really need.

Re: I thought I was prepping

This is a great thread! I have been prepping on and off for about 2 years now. I have managed to stockpile a three month food supply for my family and have enough basic level medicines, first aid items, general survival gear and the like to manage for about a year. Batteries are hard for me to get a ...

Re: Omnia Stove Top Oven

Thanks Decaff! It did look like a good option! I know in a survival situation that we should be focused on necessities rather than luxuries but with 2 children to consider I am always trying to find ways to make the essentials more palatable. When in a SHTF situation I think a few home comforts can ...

Omnia Stove Top Oven

I have recently been looking at a longer term survival scenario and was wondering if anyone had any ideas regarding the use of a stove top oven such as the Omnia? I am aware that baking can be achieved in a Dutch oven but it does have its disadvantages. For one the weight of the pot is rather off pu...

Re: Safe haven

Thanks Arzosah, in all honesty I was suffering from insomnia last night, not my usual MO to be up and about at such unsocial hours. You asked what I'm preparing for, it's not a quick answer which I'm sure is the case of many in this forum. I started my preps simply for my family to be ok if there wa...

Safe haven

I was recommended to pop along to this forum by a likeminded friend. I am very grateful indeed as I feel like I have found a safe haven. For many years I have harboured concerns about how fragile the appearance of our civilised society really is. I also mistrust the main stream media and prefer to d...
