Re: Woodland use

I've no idea then.

I'm not planning on shooting anything other than targets tbh unless it all goes belly up

Re: Woodland use

Hi,

Yes there are a few deer knocking about apparently.

Not sure about shooting rights though, however the wood next to this one I noticed had shotgun shells lying on the floor around the entrance.

I don't have a fire arms license anyhow.

Combat pants

Could somebody please recommend me a good strong pair of combat pants for bushcraft?

Camo or green ideally.

Cheers

Re: Woodland use

Thanks. I was there today for the first time. It's a big plot and from what I can see is mostly pine trees with a few sycamores in there. I need to have a better examination of plant life when they are in full leaf as I'm no good at tree identification in winter. I don't think there are any edible p...

Re: Easiest alcohol to make?

By far the easiest alcohol to make is base spirit. Buy a sachet of Alcotec yeast online (£3) 8 bags of white cane sugar 23 litres of water. Mix the sugar and water, add the yeast and leave to ferment for about 2-3 weeks. Makes 23litres of 20% base alcohol which then you add small bottles of flavouri...

Re: Woodland use

Sorry, I'm genuinely not trying to get people jealous I was just looking for ideas. I know I am very lucky in this respect. The woodland is in the County Durham area but that's all I will say. I'm 44 so I'm certainly not going to be taking my mates there to get pissed up. I might have the odd BBQ wi...

Re: Woodland use

Hi, I don't think there is any strict covenant or guidelines. He's not allowed to build a permanent house on the land but he can have a temporary building. He currently has a shed in it which houses a quad bike and a load of tools. The woodland was always a private wood and not part of the national ...

Woodland use

Hi, I've just found out this week that my uncle bought a section of woodland a few years back and doesn't really use it. It's about 5 miles from my house and is around 15 acres. He said I can take a copy of his key (as there is a locked gate to access the wood by dirt track through other woods) and ...

Hello from another newcomer

Hi, from another newbie based near Durham. I have a had an interest in prepping for the past 6 months or so. It all started with the addition to our family of my lovely little boy, before this I must admit I really didn't think about the effect of future events all that much, and then all of a sudde...
