Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 11
It's this one ALLPOWERS Portable Generator 288Wh Power Station Emergency Power Supply with DC/AC. It has been really good on holiday, but I would like to buy another similar one which is bigger, but have no idea how to work out what they will run and need someone to explain it to me in simple terms...

We also have a big power bank which we use when camping to power lights and charge the laptop but although this has a 3 pin plug fitting I dont know how I can work out if this would be enough to run an electric kettle or other things. I could just have lit the wood stove and boiled the stove kettle...

Re: It's still about.
I am still seeing people wearing masks in the town where I work, mostly older people but some younger ones too. A client with an appointment came to work the other day (not a medical facility) and I asked if she was unwell, she wasnt and it was just her preference which is fine. I was actually more ...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 11
We had a couple of powercuts on Wednesday. When I went to report first of all it said it was planned but we had no warning and then it was unplanned. The major works going on in the vicinity with traffic lights on the main road and a dozen vehicles for the last two weeks told it's own story. I had a...

Re: In the event of nuclear war...
In the event of nuclear war I would likely just resign myself to fate. I have no interest in attempting to survive the initial blast, the nuclear winter, the radiation sickness , the blindness and cancers which would follow or watching my loved ones have a painful and terrible end. I doubt that we w...

Take care Jansman, organising my Mum's funeral was the worst thing I had to do. Luckily we had many a conversation and knew exactly what her wishes were. Family only at the funeral at the crem and no alcohol afterwards. She had chosen a particular song she wanted, my Dad chose one and my sister too....

Not at all as in depth as yours Jenny. We buy the chicken in white sauce for when we go away in the tent. Usually buy from Tesco and it is fairly tasty served with rice and some tinned peas or other tinned veg. We try and conserve the calor gas in the tent, somewhat easier when we are using the wood...

Re: Pallet Wood quality Question
You've got to remember that not all pallets are created equal. The best ones for 'project' wood are the single use ones used for industrial deliveries (at work we call them materials pallets). These tend to have a 'fresh wood' colour (and sometimes smell) to them and can be of non-standard sizes as...

Re: New and planning on abandonning you all. . . .
Hello, please do give any unwanted food, hygiene and household supply preps to your local food bank, community kitchen, homeless unit or to your local church. If you are unsure, ask your local council who would point you in the right direction. They would be unlikely to accept medical supplies, but ...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 11
We are currently unprepping, well growing wise at least. We are spending quite a lot of time caring for/feeding and visiting our elderly parents and our youngest has just left home so we no longer have enough time or someone to water the crops whilst we recharge our batteries on holiday. We did hav...
