Re: How are you preparing for Brexit?

*IF* the economy goes Pete Tong, then the above situation will be the flash point for civil disturbance. Prepping as usual then :D The week before and after will be interesting. I think it'll be a time for lying low. Fortunately I can do that. Things will settle into something, that's why I'm thinki...

Not what I'd expect from a board admin, to be honest

Yeah, last time it was a cupboard full of stuff I never touched. This time round I'll try to rotate.

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 5.

I've done a lot of random food shopping, now assessing what I've got and trying to make a list of any gaps. Only looking at 2 weeks worth for the minute, but there's the hotel bag too - I'd raided that so many times it was basically a bag containing out-of-date paperwork and a pair of socks.

Re: How are you preparing for Brexit?

Not quite free, but I have an account with britline, the online version of Credit Foncier in France, and they charge 60 cents a month. There's a linked savings account too, but for the potential hassle of tuppence hapenny (given how little I keep in the account, just enough to cover the bills) I do...

Re: How are you preparing for Brexit?

Couple of interesting links. On reading those it occurred to me that the week before Br*x!t is critical - stock up then on fresh stuff that'll keep a few weeks. I've kept tomatoes up to 6 weeks and they've still been good for pasta sauce. tbh, no lettuce for a week and I probably wouldn't notice. P...

Re: How are you preparing for Brexit?

A wee jaunt to Europe might be your only chance for light/heating/food/water/medicine/Christmas* after Brexit, I wouldn't dismiss the idea. *I might have made up the Christmas bit. Won't we all have those things stockpiled? ;) I know for a fact Christmas will be on sale for cheaper in January...

You can pick them up for 30 quid or there abouts too.
That's a lot less than I remember them being. Hmm... :| 8-)

At that price, treat yourself, get two more :D

Re: How are you preparing for Brexit?

Yeah, I jumped in without answering the actual question, but why start as I don't mean to go on? I think for me it'll be prepping as usual, I'm reasonably insulated from Br*x!t, though. Things could get a bit bumpy for a month or two, anything more than that and I'd need to be prepping at a whole ot...

Or a dehydrator.
I did look into those back when I had the allotment but decided they weren't going to do what I needed. That was then though.

Not a bad idea. See, that's why I come here :)

Re: How are you preparing for Brexit?

For the house it's candles at the minute, but it's near impossible to safely get downwards light with them. Those bulbs look just the thing. I have a battery version for my tent, they give 360 degree light which is great. Maybe I'll treat myself to a few more.
