Re: Another little step towards a cashless society.
I agree that cash seems to be becoming a dirty word, and it doesn't help when you have idiot politicians saying that people who use a legal currency as a form of payment are 'bad citizens' Of course we all know that what they're getting at is the cash-in-hand and gig economy and the tax it avoids, w...

Re: Another little step towards a cashless society.
Visa has a strong vested interest and it's not in the article, more people will run up credit card debt and be enslaved to paying back at fairly high interest rates, if you haven't got a great deal of money, it's a trap many will fall into , they know this, they make billions worldwide as a result ...

Re: Solar help needed.
The problem with 12v systems is that whenever you run anything of high ampage it smashes the batteries, wether directly 12v or through an inverter. It's doable to run household lights on a 12v system, wether solar or through converters, and you can certainly use 12v to charge or power most technolog...

Re: Solar help needed.
Cheers for that. :) Not sure I want the strip lighting, it's all in my head atm   I'd actually avoid the rolls of led strip, it looks bright but would be rubbish to light a room, and it uses a lot of power for what it is. For fancy bling and show vehicles, great, but not for emergency o...

Re: Solar help needed.
I might be able to help a bit, i've worked on camper vans and caravans so have installed a bit of led lighting on solar. Firstly, how big is the room and how high are the ceilings? most 12v led bulbs/strips are very bright but the light fades from about a metre, so it's great in small spaces but not...

Re: Another little step towards a cashless society.
Obviously all the drug dealers across Sweden and every other country won't be going to the government and telling them what their turnover is, what percentage is cash and how they're doing their transactions! . Maybe an unforeseen side effect will be a reduction in drug dealers if they can't use or...

Re: Another little step towards a cashless society.
From what it was saying it seems cash is now used in less than 2% of all transactions and is predicted to disappear by the early 2020's . This is a bit like when they say that the crime figures are down, maybe reported crime is down, because people know full well there's little point these days in ...

Re: Car bag with knife
I doubt you'll have any problems if, as everyone says, you have the right attitude and don't go waving it about. I'm a bugger for going home with my work knife clipped to me, the place i work at carpet lines vans so it's one of those folding stanley-knife types, never had any issues with either bein...

I doubt it would ever get that bad that gangs of youths will be kicking down doors in suburbia - unless they knew there was something worth going for perhaps. We live in an area where a mile up the road we have some very nice posh houses- several have top-end Audis, Porsches etc, yet a mile or so do...
