Re: Anyone else use a Shemagh?

I haves two, one in the bob and one for general use, usually wear it when shooting my bow if its nippy.

The bob one I've had for a few years, I bought it originally to protect my face and teeth at air soft back in the day.

Re: solar panels

I've put together a couple of panels adding up to 50w, a charge controller and two caravan batteries. So far it is a beast, although only in its first phase as I can only really charge iPads etc... My ham radios and run a 10w led flood lamp, but as I get more bits to run off it, I can see us increas...

Re: What preps are you doing this week? part 2.

Put another battery in the bank for the solar charger, and added another 20w panel. Takes me up to 140ah, should be able to run my led lights for three days straight.

Got me another pack of mini bic lighters for edc, as I gave my 'lucky' one to my little sister.

Re: Baofeng UV-5R

What is the potential range with these handsets? I've done away with the standard antenna and got one of those Nagoya ones in anticipation of getting my ticket and using a local-ish repeater. Its about 12 ish miles as the crow flies, but there is a bit of lumpy land in between. I'm thinking I'm goin...

Re: rechargibg rechargeable batteries

Maplin also do an aa/aaa battery charger which has a car power socket plug on it, that would be a piece of cake to connect up to a solar kit.

Re: rechargibg rechargeable batteries

Try these for a solar or even hybrid charging kit http://www.renytek.co.uk/

I've got a similar solar system, albeit only 30W, but I'm very impressed and have plans to expand it.

I'll be buying from these guys next, seem very good value.

Re: Battery chargers

Love an eneloop, wish I could afford more of them. I bought the eneloop aa/aaa smart charger. Quality, keeps the eneloops going well and has coaxed a bit of life from my El cheapo batteries of old.
