Re: Burying your head in the sand???
Further to my post above, the same friend and his partner, and a few other friends were round for a bite and a few drinks last night. Any way I think my pal had been talking to his missus about what we had talked about, and half way through the evening she turns round and ask me why I've got all the...

Re: Burying your head in the sand???
A good mate came round the other day for our usually put the world to rights session. Now he probably has an idea that I've started prepping, he knew me way back when I was into survivalism, but we've never talked about the subject directly. Anyway we were talking about how the world seems to be goi...

Re: What's the use of prepping when...
Left my keys in the door a few times, usually when one of the cats is being a pain following me round to the shops. Worst ever though went out in a bit of a hurry, was late for work, didn't pull the front door shut properly . 8 hours later came home, door wide open, best part though, the post, an ad...

Re: What preps are you doing this week? part 2.
I've received three spare bow strings, 100mtr spool of Dacron, 1lb of string wax, 100 arrow piles, and will be getting several lengths of ceder dowels at the weekend, should keep my bow and crossbow going for a while.
Re: How long
Just remember when storing water its heavy before piling 20 cases of water on top of the IKEA flat pack wardrobe...... it wont harm to boil any really old long term stored water before drinking or passing it through a proprietary water filter Already considered that, after reading another thread on...

Re: Caught unawares
I would think that it would depend on the situation you find yourself in, and what you can see from the window of the train. Do you know the route the train tracks follow. Do they stay out of built up areas, running through mostly wooded, folliate cuttings, etc. And do you feel comfortable, and conf...

Re: What preps are you doing this week? part 2.
I joined this community, and have been trawling the threads and making list of the items which seam most sensible to me for preps. Have also started stocking up with water, have 30ltr of water in 2ltr bottles already, had no idea I cranks so much Pepsi, lol
Re: How long
Thanx, have the perfect place, kids are going to have to move some of their rubbish, lol.
Re: How long
I like the idea of us all drinking dinosaur pee, lol. Aside from that thanx for the info. So I assume that you would need to rotate the packaging more than the water itself.
How long
Might sound like a daft question, but was wondering how long does stored water actually last. I know bottled waters and other drinks have a sell by or use by date on the bottle which seems to be on average about 9 to 12 months, but how long can you safely store it for.
