Re: Popper tip
I thought maybe I'd overstepped the mark a bit in view of the chaps death (I honestly didn't know) and I wouldn't have wanted to offend any of the family in case they stumbled across this thread. You're ok, he died 25 years ago or so. Funny that velcro is the one fastener that trouser flies are nev...

Re: Trangia liquid stove advice
I bought a replacement Trangia from militarymart a couple of years ago because someone said the originals were dying out. My original is still going strong but I have the replacement sitting in the stores just in case. To be fair unless I back the car over it I can't see where it could fail, the lit...

Re: Popper tip
Possibly one of the funniest threads here in a while! :D To answer a couple of the questions quickly without entirely derailing the thread; Yes they're legal and yes they can be dangerous if misused/combined with other drugs (they increase your heart rate - combined with viagra they can be lethal). ...

Re: Popper tip
Mark that up as 3 for the wrong popper crowd  Speaking a bit more relevantly though, some questions; 1. Wouldn't you need a dead battery rather than waste a full one? 2. Aren't batteries full of acid and dangerous to cut open? 3. Those bits are solid metal, how would you sew them on to use the...

Re: Precious metals
I've been buying silver for a few years, I'd love to say with any sort of strategy but usually when I remember or get some unexpected money in. As well as that, I have some "online" money that I've been investing and moving around for quite a while. When it goes up I spend some, move some ...

Yep the interchangeable blades are a great idea. No bigger pain in the backside than trying to resharpen a built in sawYorkshire Andy wrote: just had a good look at it and your right
even more on the plus side it looks like a fairly standard black and decker jigsaw esk blade pattern

Re: What preps are you doing this week? Part 3.
Thanks all, I think I agree, discretion is the better part of valour in this case. There's definitely no medical issue, and as Decaff has so graciously hinted at my mind is now determined that any suet was the vegetarian kind! Funny really, I'll eat anything so have never had to even ask about that ...

Re: What preps are you doing this week? Part 3.
Anti vegan rant over, and i do still love Mrs DustyDog even though she turned to the dark side of vegan. We made a huge error at Xmas, not sure even how to broach the subject with the poor victim. My missus made mince pies, and we had some people over for dinner who all had very different die...

Re: Amazon Vs Amazon
That is ridiculous, I've used German suppliers before because they came out cheaper, but hadn't thought to look at Amazon.de. I have been using the ridiculously named http://uk.camelcamelcamel.com/ lately, which goes to show what sort of price hiking Amazon get up to in the approach to the holidays....
