Re: Car kit

If anyo...

You need chocolate

Top priority

Chocolate is surely the first thing (and the last) in the bag!

Any sweets....... but particularly the jelly ones - the use by date is HUUUUUUUUGE

Re: calling any scrimpers (cheapskates)

I think one of our 'hidden savings' is in changing how we buy spices. If you look in the 'world food' aisles of the supermarkets you can buy large packets of herbs/spices for less than the price of the smaller refills in the herb and spice section. Someone's already touched on this, but it is well w...

Re: No cost or low cost preps

Rice is an excellent, cheap store cupboard item. If you're not used to eating a LOT of rice there are other, cheap alternatives such as cous cous. I am particularly keen on cous cous as a store cupboard staple not least because all the water you use to cook it is absorbed into the grains and consume...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 4

We have now culled out all our unwanted, surplus male fowl. (Nice and tasty! :D ) We've brought the incubators out of hibernation and given them a thorough delousing. Our geese have kicked into production mode and in a couple of days I'll have enough eggs to fill the incubator. Greenhouse and polytu...

Or if you're over 40 get them anyway. ;) Better still get a pair or too of those work trousers Aldi and Lidl sell with the pockets for knee pads in, I've neve...

Re: Night bug out debrief

Thanks - yeh I don't think a torch would be necessary, perhaps a tiny LED for map reading. I've walked at night throughout my life and can't remember needing a torch even under a deciduous canopy with not much moon. I'm sure dense coniferous would be different. Probably more useful than a torch wou...
