Must agree with the maglight and use Duracell batteries as they are heavier. @katilea a penny stove is just a cheap and easy methylated spirits burner/stove. Been mentioned a few times on here.
I tried one in my storm kettle and it worked a treat,boils as quick as the sticks.would be handy for you for the times you can't get out for sticks/wood, plus it's indoor safe.

@dangerman,d not know what bike you ride? have you tried Ventura luggage systems.
I had one on my zx9 loads of storage space,unclips in seconds and stable and secure at autobahn speeds ;)
Bit expensive but we'll worth it .
