Re: Even more minimal BoB!

Just as a quick addendum to this thread I thought I would add where I've ended up. The response bag was just too small for my needs. It also made me realise that it was also too tactical looking. So I now have a czech army haversack which I have modified with a nice long, wide strap. An old guitar s...

Re: Most loved items?

My patient and understanding wife bought me a Buck 110 anniversary edition. It is a thing of beauty, razor sharp and holds an edge like you wouldn't believe. It just needs a strop every now and again and job done.

However it is responsible for my left arm being almost completely bald :D

Re: Even more minimal BoB!

Nice one :) Glad it's worked out for you! My Czech army haversack arrived today and I think it will be a much better fit for me. It takes everything the "snugpak" style bag did and more. I can fit 3 days rations and my 500ml aluminium water bottle and tin can billy! I am pretty sure I am m...

Re: Pen knife ??

That is very interesting and helpful...great post, thanks :) I carry a Victorinox Farmer if I am out for a stroll in the woods or walking the dog. In more urban environs I carry a Gerber Bear Grylls compact multi tool. However more often than not I don't carry an EDC blade just in case...and to be h...

Snugpaks are on offer here at the min, with £1 delivery, making them £12.83 delivered. Ordered mine yesterday, paid by PayPal for piece of mind, but looks to be dispatched today! http://www.daleswear.co.uk/?action=shop.detail&product=snugpak-response-pak That's a great price. I have to confess ...

Re: Even more minimal BoB!

I was looking at a similar bag on a well known auction site, that fitted onto a bikes handlebars.as well as shoulder carried and waist attached. One and the same :) Or at least one of many! However, I'm not sure the bag is going to make it! One of the press studs has broken and I have discovered som...

Re: Even more minimal BoB!

Neverready, You say you want more water carrying for your kit. Looking at your bag I notice a load of extra kit fastening loops around your bag. Have you considered a military style 800 ml - 1 Lt water bottle in a pouch ? As far as I can see, if you get a bottle and pouch with an Alice clip fitting...

Yup...some pretty good stuff coming out of China at the moment. Their complete disregard for copyright helps keep the price down :D

Still, these are normally closer to £15.

Re: Even more minimal BoB!

Thanks :)

Yeah, a shemagh is a great piece of kit, there is so much you can use them for.

I first came across them when getting into airsoft a few years ago. First rate neck protection :D
