Re: "wildfire risk" extremely high..

Here in the Highlands wildfires happen every year so we have to be thoughtful about it. I have a pile of garden waste needing burnt, mostly shrub trimming from over the winter, did try to burn it earlier but it was too wet. Thought about it a few days ago when it had been dry but decided it was too ...

STocking up on flea and tick stuff, for dogs and humans. Ticks are everywhere this year, have removed about 12 from ME :o over the last week. Everytime I go into the garden I get at least one. Apparently it's because of the mild dry winter.

Re: actually that could be useful.

'm considering one of these I've got a similiar one, my little red wagon, it's very useful too. Agree about the buckets, after carting water for months I'm very grateful to them. The kind with lids are great, I have several square ones which I use for storing sugar, pasta, rice etc. they stack and ke...

actually that could be useful.

I bought a new wheelbarrow because my old one is still going but getting dodgy and one load too heavy may well see it out, so i'm ready for that day. It occurred to me that in a shtf situation a wheelbarrow would be useful. If you had to carry water or firewood from a distance it would mean you coul...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 6.

I'm back after a few months break when I could only occasionally dip in to the forum, oh how I missed it. After spending 9months in a caravan with no water or electric we've moved to a cottage a few months ago. Water comes out of taps :o hot as well as cold! bliss :) Lights come on at the flick of a...

Re: What about this?

Haven't watched it as i don't have a tv. but I know a little about it, once sold some chickens to them many years ago. It isn't strictly speaking an island , it's a peninsula and is accessable on foot but the journey is long and very difficult I believe, so not for the faint hearted.

Re: I’m back

Welcome back, glad things are better for you. With the future uncertain for all of us, you couldn't have re-started at a better time. Medicines seem to be something the media has pegged as potentially difficult post brexit. Maybe check your painkiller, wound dressing supplies etc. You'll know what s...
