I love this site, you learn something new all the time, I didn't know about this problem. I have kept a large chest freezer in garage or shed for years and haven't had a problem but as my current freezer is getting on a bit, i'll keep a close eye, thankyou

Given that we are probably a fairly representative sample and tea seems to be the main "must have" perhaps if anyone is laying aside extra preps for bartering, tea would be a wise choice.

Tea. I can face most things as long I have a cuppa in my hand. A world without tea doesn't bear thinking about.

Just come out of a power cut from 11pm yesterday till 10.30 this morning, good chance to test preps for such an eventuality. Welcome from another freak from the highlands. I too spend more time considering family needs rather than my own. I too have a phone which requires no electricity, although my using one does. ( no mobile reception here). I have batteries, candles, torches , paraffin lamps, windup radio/torch etc etc...
