Re: Looking for new EDC bag with no molle
Total agree Deeps for birthday and Christmas definitely cash but she who must be obeyed refuses for our anniversary. So after spending days looking at every rucksack available I now have to rack my brain thinking of something else.

Re: Looking for new EDC bag with no molle
Thanks for the tip on looking at Decathlon Jamesey. They have a bag which has everything I want, it looks a bit flimsy but I'll give it a go. This was to be an anniversary present from my wife so was expecting a price of about £50-60 I will have to think of something else for her to get me otherwise...

Looking for new EDC bag with no molle
I have a 27L Asics sports bag which has served me well for years but it is time to retire it. The problem I have is I cannot find anything similar. What I am looking for is 25-30L sports rucksack (No Mil look or molle as I do not want to stand out like a sore thumb) The main thing I want is 3/4 to f...

Re: USB PC operating system
Another great piece of software is hiren's boot CD. A bit complicated to get it onto a USB drive but includes a scaled down copy of Windows XP that can boot from the USB and a huge amount of freeware diagnostic and utility software.

Re: tisept antiseptic sachets
I agree that the clinical trials had a cost saving agenda but no significant advantage was found in the different solutions used to control wound infection. The use of saline solution would not cause cells to burst as it is isotonic so cells will not absorb excess fluid via osmosis. Guidelines say t...

Re: tisept antiseptic sachets
The use of antiseptic solutions such as tisept, normasol and unisept has not been recommended since the late 90s after peer reviewed papers found that they where no more effective than tap water, saline solution or distilled water at lowering bacterial count. Another paper in 1997 found that Antisep...

Re: Tough (& waterprrof) USB 3 ThumbDrive
I can definitely recommend the Kingston Data Traveler Vault Privacy. It is aluminium and feels really solid (actually you will be surprised how heavy it is compared to other drives.), waterproof rating of IPX-8 continual submersion in water up to 4ft and 256-bit AES hardware-based encryption with FI...

Re: Pen drive for EDC
You may be able to run HBCD on a work computer but if it is BIOS locked then you will not be able to change to boot order. The Windows XP OS is simply there to give you a familiar user interface with which access the software tools. It will work on any computer that can run windows or linux but Macs...
