Re: Handcuffs in your preps

I think I'd go down the cable ties route long before I'd consider carrying handcuffs; weight/cost/single usage/ explaining to the local finest why you need a pair of handcuffs etc ....

Re: CCTV?

Megiddo: Preps aren't just about TEOTWAWKI, preps are just another form of insurance for those little bumps in the road we all encounter. Totally agree FC, if I'm honest I don't think I would want to or could survive in TEOTWAWKI situation. Most, if not all, of what I am doing now is for those litt...

Re: What kind of stove...

FC : I paid £67 for the 533 stove, which I didn't mind as all the research I'd done said the thing was pretty much bombproof. In fact I was so impressed with it I've bought another , secondhand , from eBay for £40. Here's a link for the frontier stove which is bloody excellent: http://www.amazon.co....

Re: CCTV?

I'm sure the terrier is a great alarm though! :D I hadn't considered my CCTV as part of my prepping, if I'm honest, as I assumed I wouldn't have the electricity to run it. For me that would be more of a 'batten down the hatches' time. A good, reliable source of electricity is one of the things I nee...

Re: What kind of stove...

I've just bought a Coleman sporter dual fuel stove - as I always have some petrol as I have a motorbike. Fired it up once and was very impressed with its heat output and burntime. I've also just invested in a small woodburning stove called a 'Frontier Stove' for longer periods of fuel shortage (as I...

Re: CCTV?

Just had a 3 camera system installed. Not sure how much of a deterrent it is but it does provide a certain amount of reassurance as to gather evidence. I think you also have to consider that it might attract a certain type of person who wants to know why you have them (and couldn't give a fig about ...

Hi, New member here

Hi all New member from the New Forest area. Very new to the whole prepper 'thing', but see it as a way to learn new skills and hopefully share some ideas. Ideally I want to get myself less reliant on the current infrastructure and get myself more able to provide for my own needs. Look forward gettin...
