Re: One week without addiction

Up until a couple of years ago, I was one hell of a TEA addict - 10-15 mugs a day w/o blinking. I then lost my job and for some reason, stopped drinking the stuff. Now I am a water addict - 2-3 litres a day. I will do you a favour and drink a cup of tea but that is it. Even my GP went  at it ...

Re: What do you carry?

I have been thinking about this a lot recently. I carry a box of basic survival stuff but recently have been adding to this: shovel, rock salt, auto socks etc. This does weigh the car down and adds to the fuel bill hence my pondering on this. However, I will only add additionals eg 25kg bag rock sal...

Re: When a cold is a flu and how to treat both

Maddie_cat isn't there something called the 'ten pound note test'. Apologies if its on the video I haven't watched it yet. I remember watching it on one video describing flu.    Yes, I have heard of that and whilst it may be trite, if you have flu, you know what it means!!!

Re: Bartering

As far as I know Hull is probably the biggest city in your area and it's not exactly renowned for trouble? Oh sugar - you ain't been to Hull!!! Having been a student there I can honestly say, on a Friday and Saturday night, it ain't pretty! Too much "town n gown" for starters! Hell, even ...

Re: When a cold is a flu and how to treat both

I am glad you said that MH because I HATE it when somebody sneezes twice, blows their nose a couple of times and sniffs then tell me they have 'flu. IF YOU HAD INFLUENZA YOU WOULD KNOW ABOUT IT . A cold and flu are two different things. Flu can wipe you out for a couple of weeks; a cold a few days. ...

Thanks for that both of you. I usually use Suma and stock up twice a year but will "Favourite" this for next time to compare prices.

Re: good location for comunity

(home to none of us! which was the idea, really) Think that is the main thing for an initial meet. Obviously I could be holier than thou and state "OPSEC" but reality is, if you don't know each other, on initial meeting you may loathe each other but they know where you live   ...

Re: Bartering

I think the big question has already been asked: what are you prepping for? Armageddon? Nuclear strike? Economic breakdown? Even in those three suggestions there will be different requirements for each situation. Suggest the best thing to do is 'learn to barter'. I must admit to having felt embarass...
