Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 7.

Dusty Dog, good for you, you found yourself the makings of a community, and went for it. Brilliant news. My community-seeking is going a little slower  today I'm off to an environmental group that has lectures once a month (okay, U3A, don't shoot me  ) and we're doing an online ecologi...

Re: World War Z

Arzosah You’d be surprised just how serious members are about zombies, and the prep that goes into defending against them, mostly on US forums...firearm discussions holding the main. ..... Actually, a minor character was based on myself for a zombie novel, as a survivor not a zombie, a few sentence...

Re: World War Z

I read it a while back after seeing the film. I liked the interview format, the tone was very realistic, but I can't remember much more about it, sorry. Interesting point about the "fast" zombies :) but surely zombie forums aren't about prepping for zombies, are they? Aren't they about fun, even if ...

Re: Prepper On A Budget

Hi there Lone, my word, you've done loads! Do you have direct access to water, a well or something? Seems so important, with the number of water mains breakages that there are, as well as contaminants. You're doing well with kit like you mention in your first post - skills are crucial, of course, bu...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 7.

Jilly, thats a really impressive list of achievements. And ForgeCorvus is right, of course, happiness is best of all :) January is my finance month, not my prepping month, but in between times I'm gathering stuff for a hospital bag. I've ransacked the house to try to find the spare playing cards tha...

Re: Newbie

Welcome to the forum! I always think of Shropshire as very rural, what are the issues that you see? I live in a small town myself, but its near a lot of big ones, wondering if thats your situation too? And yes, power cuts of all sorts of durations increasingly common.

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 7.

Rejigging storage here, making better use of the new space I've got in the kitchen - I have a friend from London coming to stay in mid-March, and there's literally nowhere for her to sleep at the moment, the new bed is buried under all sorts of rubbish. And I want some preps out of there, to lower t...

Re: Abbreviating the year on financial documents

You're welcome :) its a bit niche, there's no doubt, but its undoubtedly a possibility, and writing out the year in full is such a simple thing to do.

Abbreviating the year on financial documents

I wasn't quite sure where to put this, and its very minor, but its an interesting little point about not abbreviating the yearin *this* year in particular, fraudsters can alter it after the fact: https://uk.yahoo.com/finance/news/polic ... 33164.html

Re: Prepping and climate change

There's a graph on this page, after the first couple of paragraphs that shows yearly fossil fuel use since 1800.

We have a lot worse to come :(
