Re: London Protests

I'm so, so sorry to hear that, jansman - no wonder that's where you're coming from :( I don't understand how beliefs like veganism can lead people to choose that kind of diabolical attack on others. I hope your firm's cctv is good enough to get good detail on their faces, and they can all get heavy ...

Re: London Protests

Going wildly off topic (cos I'm good at it) - what's the point anyway when you look at how much pollution comes from China, Russia, and America? We're kidding ourselves that we can still lead the world and be a big power for change. We're a tiny has-been banana republic! We started it (with the Ind...

Re: London Protests

It appears that all police rest days are cancelled, and the overtime bill will off the scale. They have yoofs sticking knives in each other down there and not enough coppers to boot! Do they not have work? Or are the tax paying polluters who have to get to work supporting them? Cos none of us live ...

Re: London Protests

If the Noble Protest groups feel so strongly, they should start by shuffling off this mortal coil.Yes I said that! Top 'emselves!A bit less methane in the atmosphere, the ultimate noble sacrifice for fellow man and Gaia herself! Er, I don't *quite* agree with you on this one, jansman :D I have said i...

Re: London Protests

It's great that everyone here understands how real the threat is of climate change. As for *these* protests - loving the bit about the elite travelling on the light railway :) though seriously, the point is to radicalise enough people to do something - its not really about getting the elite to take ...

Re: Hello All

Welcome, bedford prepper :) That's good to have a baby bag, since you have two toddlers... I can't imagine what the logistics would be of bugging out with such little ones... what would make you do that? Great that you have medical training, though. How about home security, how are you fixed there?

Re: New city farms

I mistook the timing of your wind turbine :) and omigod, you sound *seriously* knowledgeable about electrical matters, Catweazle, all power to your elbow (in a manner of speaking :) ).

I love those vertical axis designs, from what I understand they're less lethal to wildlife too.

Re: Radios and walkie talkies

That's really good, jansman - your "highly unlikely" scenario was about keeping tabs, and then your family used it for present day keeping tabs. Win-win :)

Re: Radios and walkie talkies

There's a lot of people just like me, who *want* to know/ understand comms, and may even have a little bit of equipment, but can't quite take the last step. This forum and it's members are really great for sorting out situations like that :) thanks guys.

Re: Radios and walkie talkies

This thread is gelling with a conversation I had with a neighbour over the weekend - he's just bought a new ham radio base, over £4k, so I presume it's a good'un. He was helping people in the Netherlands mark off the UK during a competition they were having, so it's got good range. Not that I'd say ...
