Re: Re-purpose fish tanks?

If you decided to grow microgreens in the house (during a winter pandemic when you still wanted fresh greens, for instance) you could use it for the greens themselves, or you could use it as a reservoir for the nutrient water, if you were growing them without soil.

Congratulations on the move!

Re: Survival medicine

To Buy 1. The micro SD card that pseudonym linked to (or a larger one), to be fitted inside my phone, which has pathetic memory. I could then back it up to an AreTop flash drive. Cost: £10 - £20 1a. A larger microSD card to be permanently inserted inside my kindle. Cost: c£30. 1b. As an alternative...

Re: Survival medicine

Just in case, here's a link that explains the different types of USB that are available. In my set up I have the 'normal' USB, Micro B and USB C. https://www.cmd-ltd.com/advice-centre/usb-chargers-and-power-modules/usb-and-power-module-product-help/identifying-usb-connector/ I started with the best...

Re: Survival medicine

I'm chuffed to bits, actually  Could you do me a favour on this thread? Could you (or pseudonym) post a link to a micro USB card on ebay, so I'm sure what I need to look at? I just looked on there now, and there's "readers" for sale as well. If I need one, I'll buy one, but I've no idea :o...

I like Open Gardens too.Someone always has a good idea that I can use. A couple of the gardens have their own websites/ already appeared in magazine articles, and one of them has two wildlife ponds and a swimming pool! With a greenhouse, a veg plot, an orchard, a berry fruit area, and a lot of frou...

Re: Real water problems

Very true. Increasingly, I think thats what the globe is going to look like: every country in the world is going to be faced with these issues, but the First World ones, for now at least, will throw money and resources at it, solve it for at least the medium term. The Third World, maybe even the Sec...

Re: Survival medicine

Much appreciated, TLB, I'm completely adrift with some elements of technology. While I'm all in favour of helping the environment I'd be tempted to purchase a second device with more capacity, new or second hand. I rate Kindles but store all of my off-line books and manuals on several SD cards. We a...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 6.

Now that everything thats supposed to be in my kitchen is *in* my kitchen, the re-organising is spreading out to the rest of the house ... its horrifying, actually. Starting with the cubbyhole by the back door thats actually part of the understairs cupboard. DIY materials, tools, preps, paint, garde...

Wow, jansman, so you're downsizing to that extent, reclaiming the space in the brick shed? Amazing!

Red wine ... mmmm. And your start to the day sounds idyllic :)

Re: Real water problems

Horrifying that they might simply run out of water ... it nearly happened in South Africa last year, California the year before, and Barcelona a few years before that. They haven't had much rain for 4 years, and now they're totally dependent on tankers ... it just takes one more problem before that ...
